The Future of Automotive Security Research

bridging the gap between Academia and Industry

The automotive industry is in the middle of a rapid change, from the classic mechanical engineering companies that build machines towards modern digital companies. This new, connected world provides a multitude of challenges for the security of present and future vehicles. To address these challenges, there is a huge demand for experts in security engineering for automotive systems, that currently cannot be fulfilled by the job market.

The ASRG Academic Conference addresses this challenge by providing a safe environment for students and researchers, on their way to becoming experts for automotive security, to present their ongoing research work to an international audience. We provide the opportunity to receive valuable feedback from academic and industry experts on their ongoing and completed research work.

How we help researchers

A Great opportunity to present your research

This conference provides an opportunity to present your research work to an international audience and gives you the opportunity to present in a safe environment. This is also an opportunity to connect with the industry experts of the same subject matter and get their insights.

Most important of all, this is a conference and an initiative led by the students for the students.

The ASRG student leaders have identified the need to encourage students at all stages to submit the ongoing research to experience the peer presentation. The reasons behind the Academic Conference is to inform the community of great and failed research in the area of automotive security.  The point here is not to judge but to enable continuous development in research. To achieve this, all presentions will be made available to the community.

Hosted by Top of the industry Experts

There are many industry and academic experts involved.  Dr. Ikjot Saini and John Heldreth are some of the conference hosts.  The main organization and effort behind the scenes is from students and researchers like yourself.

The Host

Automotive Security Research Group (ASRG)

Automotive Security Research Group, a well known non-profit initiative to promote the development of security solutions for automotive products. ASRG started as an outcome of a masters thesis regarding how security for automotive products will change the industry from a business perspective. One of the outcomes of this research was that the goals of security are the same across all the different automotive manufactures and even across different products. Hence, we all have the same or similar goals and development process models, knowledge could or should be non-OEM specific besides the implementation strategy.
